Charging

Before charging your LiPo battery, always confirm that your charger is LiPo-compatible. This information can typically be found on the charger itself, its packaging, or in the user manual. Use a programmable charger and ensure the correct settings are selected for your specific battery (cell count, voltage, and charge rate). Proper setup is critical for both performance and safety.

Discharging

To ensure your battery can handle your setup, pay attention to the discharge rating (C-rating). This determines how much power the battery can safely deliver to your rifle. Choosing the correct C-rating helps maintain performance and prevents unnecessary strain on the battery.

Storage

For best results, store LiPo batteries at their recommended storage voltage. If your charger has a storage mode, use it to automatically charge or discharge the battery to the proper level—especially if the battery will not be used for more than a week. If a storage mode is not available, partially charge the battery for a few minutes to bring it closer to storage voltage. Avoid storing fully charged or fully depleted batteries for extended periods.

Safety

Always use a Hostile Energy LiPo balance charger with the correct settings. Never use a battery without an ESC with LiPo cut-off. Always charge and store batteries in a LiPo-safe bag. Store at room temperature in a dry environment.
